Our second movie is an end of year project that includes every student in all three blocks. Students responded to "imagine what reading can do for you". Students came up with quotes that reflected their feelings about reading. The problem that we ran into was the format of the movie. For some reason, some of the pictures are in wide screen and others are not. This caused a problem. In addition, we had trouble with the length of each slide so that the words could be read. Overall, the students we happy with their work.

Hi Tina, Great idea! The only suggestion I thought about was what you already mentioned - the length of each slide made it difficult to read some of the inspirational messages. Fabulous song choice!

Hi Tina: Really great videos. I really liked your iVie submission, but your second movie is powerful. I loved the song choice and the messages. It was a great touch to have the Civil War soldier walk through the library.

I liked the "kids in their own words" motif throughout the movie. And the hint of the scenes coming to life (soldier walking through while reading about the Civil War, etc.) was very effective. While the song was definitely appropriate, and the cover a good one, it's still illegal, especially when posting to the Internet. It takes away a lot of possibilities, but we have to mirror good digital citizenship. OK, enough. This was a very moving piece.

I liked some of your camera angles and the fact that you used a pan-out on the videos to match the pan-out on the still photographs. My only suggestion would be to have the stills up just slightly longer. Some of the quotes, I didn't have enough time to read. Good idea.
