Tina, I liked the concept of your video. I think that it was very powerful for a middle school and high school audience. Perfect use of the statistics on reading!! One suggestion would be to keep it short.

Powerful theme. I think the B+W clips were effective. Appropriate use of stills, too. The movement on them keeps it less static. I would recommend use the Ken Burns movement with purpose: from a particular place to a particular place. I agree with Jose that it could be made even more powerful if it were a little leaner. Always be looking to take away; leave only what's essential. Very nice project.

I love the theme!!! The statistics are a great touch- only a little hard to read sometimes. Is the music Garage Band? It was a great match and worked well with the theme. Nice job!

Great motivator. I liked the still images with the use of quotes. A few times the words flew across too fast for me to read but I got the intent. Great job!

Tina, Wow! That was an excellent first movie. You had some great shots in there and I really enjoyed the use of the black and white shots and then mixed in the color. The music choice fit well with your video as well. The only thing I would have done is taken out the sound in the earlier "neighborhood" shot and simply had the music going. Also, when you are using the lapel mic, you can convert the left channel into both. I'm no help with this, but... I know Frank knows how to do it. I think you need one small adapter. GREAT JOB! PS it's was great that you got some high school students involved.

Music choice was really nice. The camera movement was impressive too. In my opinion, the pixie dust effect was too cute to be included in a PSA with such an edgy look and tone.

Tina, great idea. I was moved by the quotes and the message. I loved the music. I needed more time to read some of the words and look at the image. Some of the students rushed through their lines. This gets me every time. They know it so well but don't realize that the audience is hearing it for the first time. Kim

Tina, As a High Point teacher in the 4th grade your message came across loud and clear. Literally and figuratively. I shared the video with my students and they really liked it! They are excited to get started on something of their own now! The only thing that really jumped out at me that might be something to think about next time is that the typed script moved across the screen a little too quickly in a few places. Other than that - great job!

Tina- Nice job! I really liked your concept. I thought the beginning was very strong. I thought the stats. were very effective. I did think it was a little long though. You could almost make 2 different PA. I liked the idea of students speaking about the importance of reading. Good camera shots and sounds. Towards the end it was difficult to read some of the stats. But, overall this was great. I really enjoyed it and thought it was very powerful! Good job and keep up the great work.

Tina, I agree with Carrie's comment. I had the same comment on my movie last year...I could have made two separate movies out of it! The beginning was so powerful with the black and white shots and the Ken Burns effect, and the sections in color in which kids spoke were important, but almost seemed to me to belong in a different film. I like that you tackled something so complex, though, and there were some nice camera shots throughout. Very impressive first project!

Hi Tina. I agree with everyone; it is a great first movie. I really liked the use of black and white pictures. The soundtrack is excellent, as well. My one concern is that for iVie, are all your photos copyright free? I also agree that you have material for two PSAs. You have really struck a tone with the first section in black and white, very effective. Very impressive, Tina.
