2nd submission

Our second movie is an end of year project that includes every student in all three blocks.  Students responded to "imagine what reading can do for you".  Students came up with quotes that reflected their feelings about reading.  The problem that we ran into was the format of the movie.  For some reason, some of the pictures are in wide screen and others are not.  This caused a problem.  In addition, we had trouble with the length of each slide so that the words could be read.  Overall, the students we happy with their work.

Grammar Cops / IVIE submission

After hours of editing and continuous sound issues, this is our final movie for IVIE.  Clearly, working with lapel microphones can be a challenge.

Grammar Cops

This is not a finished product.  We have been having audio issues with recurring clicking noise.  Overall the movie is done, just a few scenes will be re-shot.  Any advice?

Grammar Cops script

Download file "Grammar Cops.pdf"This is our second project.  The idea is a reality / cop show that takes our characters on various calls reporting grammar violations.  These are common grammar errors found  around our school and neighborhood.  Our characters will showcase some of the most frequent grammar mistakes that seem to challenge our students regularly in our classrooms.

Reading will change your world.

This came out longer than I planned.  This PSA shows how reading can make a difference in your world.

First Project Pitch

Title: Reading will change your world

My idea is to create a PSA that will focus on the significant impact that reading has in our lives.I have a vision to use quotes from well known individuals as well as my students own words.Key questions will be asked, such as why is reading important? How can reading improve school performance? What does literacy mean? What does literacy mean to you?... I plan to use my own students in close up shots with quotes fading in.As well, I envision utilizing the students own voices to answer these critical questions.Furthermore, I plan to compare and contrast the difference between early exposure to literacy and lack of exposure.I’ll use statistics and images in hopes of sending a powerful message.Hence, how reading can really change your world.Bottom line, it’s not too late to enrich your world. Finally, I want to use John Lennon’s "Imagine" for my music.
