Manzanar
Having finished our curriculum prior to CSTs, students are now working on iMovies, six per class -- six periods. They were given Library of Congress photos of the Civil War, Civil Rights, Manzanar, Slavery, The West, and Immigration, 1880s. Their groups have researched their topic and are preparing either text, voice overs, or a combination of both. Considering that we are just weeks away from the end of school, my students are focused and most are on task with their movies. We plan on having a mini film festival on June 12 of each period's movies.
I really enjoyed using the digital camera with this storyboard. While I admit just trying to get my subjects together to take the pictures was a bit tedious at times, I think it was worth the ideas that came out of looking at the stills.
