    PSA: Recycling

Why Should You Start a Recycling Program at Your School?

It opens with a student taking a gulp from a water bottle.  As s/he goes to throw it away into the “trashcan,” it turns into dollar bills being thrown away.

Then, we film the process of starting a recycling program at your school (how to get a recycling bin, collecting it, separating & crushing it).

It ends with an assembly line of students (in different locations): one student throws an aluminum can into a recycling bin, the recycling bin gets thrown and it turns into a bag in the next scene, the bag gets thrown and it turns into money in the next scene.

Message: “Recycling is not only good for the environment, but it is also a great fundraiser for you school!”

Great idea. I think you can turn this into a reality in the 30-60 second timeframe of the project if you use every frame efficiently. My main concern is the special effects. Have you thought of ways to bring them to life (trash into money, etc.). One possibility is cutting on action: the student throws the can in one shot and then from another angle/framing you film him throwing the money. Edit the first clip to end as he throws and the second clip picks up at that same point in the process. If done carefully, it can create that illusion. Or maybe you have other ideas?
