    Rounding

I am afraid this is a very rough draft-we are working everyday so it should improve in the next week. We have been working on the audio but all of it needs work. Voice overs will be added. We also have additional clips and effects--the kids are having a blast--I am a wreck-we are also making a video of the process and are bloopers.

Great idea, Moya. The kids are adorable and showing what they know. Connie

I liked the placard idea and how you had the rounding column move forward for focus. I also liked how you had the new values on the back of the placard. The practical application (on the whiteboard) was effective. Pacing could be tightened up. Take out any frame not totally necessary. Neat project.

Moya - I love the concept. The kids have such a tough time with this - so anything that helps them remember it! I'd probably add some music during the "quiet" times - but the kids look good! Nice job!

I like how the actors holding the placards are dressed alike- makes them look "official". The rhymes are neat - have you checked any 10 second freeplay sound clips to see if one might complement the rhymes? Just a thought.

Your students are speaking clearly and loudly, this is great. I'm thinking that a students voice over for the main rhymes would also be very effective. Music would add some more to it. Overall, very enjoyable to watch.

Cute kids, and nice mnemonic technique for rounding. Great work in progress!

Nice idea to help students with rounding. You've got some very hard working actors in your group:) I like the idea of adding music too.

The kids are very cute. This is a great concept as the students do struggle with rounding and place value. I agree with the above comments about adding in some music.

Hi, Moya! I am so impressed with this little movie, and I think you should be proud of it. It was creative, very clear, and would help any child to learn how to round numbers. Using identical tee-shirts and the blue paper behind the kids was effective. I love the "house" concept, and the way the little girl on the whiteboard started to make a mistake and caught herself. I'll bet kids watching that would call out in excitement if they realized it before she did! Agree about adding music. Great job!

This is a great way to illustrate this concept. I like that the kids are getting close-up shots. I agree with adding a little music when there is no voice to cover the dead space.

I'm sure when you are done this will be great. Just remember to tighten it up as you are editing. Everything must be quick and to the point.

Great visuals of the students holding the cards. Cute! I also like when the student makes a mistake and fixes it. You might try an over the shoulder shot on this...I think it would be better for the audience viewing the video so we aren't looking at her work upside down. Music will really help to make it peppy. ...You are on your way.

    Moya,
I really liked the lighting on the close-up shots of the students. It was perfect. Music will add a lot to this video. I was wondering if you have another angle of the student writing on the white board. I think an over-the-shoulder shot could work.

I really liked how the students moved forward with the number. Perhaps look at the length of each clip and make it tighter.
