I have started a project with the High Point class, using pictures of the story used for Write Institute. I've been working on a couple of different ideas with the same material.
The students can pick 5 pictures from the story and record predictions.
I also let them do a project where they put in dialogue for the characters on the pictures using speech bubbles, and tell what they think the characters might be saying. This was done after they were familiar with the story.
In addition to this, I will be having them do a Story Structure recording following the same format with each story they read. They will tell 5 different pieces of information for each story: characters, setting, beginning, middle, and ending.

It sounds like you are trying a variety of recording activities.
I think the predictions activity fits the best with "reading comprehension." What grade level? What are the expectations for the students?
