    iREAD Garageband Assignment

The purpose of this lesson is to teach prediction and questioning skills.  Before the Houghton-Mifflin selection is read, the students will import pictures from the story into Garageband.  The students will then record any questions they generate while viewing the slides.  The students will then create another track and record predictions while viewing the slides.  The Questioning track and the Prediction track can then be viewed as isolated tracks in order to allow others to view project.

This project posted has been stretched out in order to showcase three separate tracks.

This example demonstrates the student making predictions.

This example demonstrates the student asking questions about the selection.

This example demonstrates what the student has learned after reading the selection.

Here is a screen shot of the project.

Sounds like a great process. Perhaps they could predict based on the title as well. If time allowed, other tracks for things suchas summaries could be added.
