This was made by 4 second grade students. I was disappointed that my pseudo studio doors were opened too much and we filmed the wall, light switch, etc. Disappointing for me during editing. I bet there are some film gurus who would know how to edit this out but I am not at that stage yet. I think this is improved from the Big Bushy Mustache. The sound is decent and I think the head shots are better. The girls had fun making this.Big Bushy Mustache
This is another attempt at summarizing. The sound on several clips were really bad. I think David was playing with or rustling his hands. The microphone was behind the book the whole time. Any ideas on what else might cause that sound? This story may seem disjointed since I had to scrap several clips. I wanted to give the kids credit for strong effort. They were cute. My class is very motivated to earn camera time. Finding the time is the challenge.
Book Talk Pitch
I would like to have a Juniper Book Talk show in an effort to help increase reading comprehension of all second grade students. There will be different students who act as the host and as many guests that we can accommodate, we will. The students will have to write story summaries in order to be a guest on the show. We have pitched this idea to the second grade students and they love it! We have several students who have already created written summaries. Who says you cannot motivate students?
Book Talk Script
This is an ongoing activity where students summarize a book they have read and a talk show host interviews them. It is my intention to get as many second graders as possible to participate in this program. This is in direct response to support our reading comprehension focus as well as summarize.
