Students will monitor and clarify their understanding of the Houghton Mifflin selection by describing vocabulary words from the story. After learning the vocabulary from the Houghton Mifflin selection of From the Shores of the Silver Lake and listening to the story with their Anthology on the computer, students will describe the vocabulary words from the story using the audio recorder and save it on a Keynote presentation with the picture that goes with the word. Because the story is about a girl who is blind traveling on a train, students will describe the words, not just define them as if they were describing them to someone that could not see.

Do you already have Audio Recorder installed on the computers you are going to be using? If not, you'll need to put in a WHD ticket to have it installed on the computers. Select Administration > ETT Support/Staff Development. Be sure to include the room numbers for the machines.
