5th grade students from the Falcon Video Club decided to make a video called Pink Slips. They wanted to interview teachers and administrators about their opinions on the fact that so many of our excellent teachers at Farr Avenue got pink slips this year. The video is an interview where students asked some of the teachers who received pink slips, those teachers who didn't, administrators who had to give them out, and students' reactions. The students wrote the script together, they filmed and edited the clips on their own. I am very proud of all their hard work and dedication.

Hi Jose, What a great topic to film! One suggestion I have is to use a larger font for the teacher names. It was difficult for me to read them. I think the students did a great job interviewing. Pink slips are an unfortunate reality for us and often the schools with the lowest poverty are hit the hardest. Children are a precious resource and we need to fight for them and also the new teachers who arrive at school every single day with a positive attitude.

I agree with Laura on the font size, especially because it's a busy font. Of course, that problem is exaggerated by the shrunk-down compressed version of your movie. I think it was a terrific idea to really make them the total owners of the production; a great learning tool for them. And blues in the background—a natural. Great job.

Kids did a great job. What a good tool for you to use to teach them about such a tough topic that is affecting us greatly at Farr. Bravo!
