    Project #2- Alligreater the Alligator

We are going to try something new (and maybe a bit crazy). My kids really wanted to try to create a claymation movie. I told them that we will give it a try but my saying is, "Keep it simple." And boy, I really had to help them simplify their idea. They are such a creative bunch!

The main idea for our movie is to teach the concept of greater than and less than. The lesson is how to write the < or > symbol. The original idea had us comparing one digit, two digit, three digit, fractions, and number sentences. However, in order to "keep it simple" we are simply sticking with comparing two-digit numbers.

Here is the storyboard and the script. Hope you all enjoy!

Please note: The setting and our clay creature is in the drafting stage. They will be much more elaborate for the filming. :)

I love the title! The story board looks great! I know what you mean about simplifying... when we worked with clay last year for a division project - what should have taken a couple of hours turned into a two week project. Can't wait to see (and share with the kids) your final project!

Sounds like a fun project. Claymation is wonderful for this project. Good luck with it. The story line sounds simple, but impressive. Ok wait, nothing is simple. I'm looking forward to the finish product. I'm sure it will be fabulous.

What a cute idea! I always use the alligator eats the greater number too, and it will be great to have a video to show as well. I like the way you fade into the claymation segment.

I love this alligreater idea! To help my students remember the symbols I always draw the alligator, but your video will be a much better strategy!

I was most impressed with your storyboard - you have way too much energy for the end of the year! The movie will be great, I'm sure.
