    Pitch for Newbie project

I'm thinking of creating a movie to motivate my students to become better readers.  I would have an example of a student reading something like environmental print (i.e. McDonald's sign, stop sign, etc).  The scene would then change to the student chanting "I am a reader".  It would then move on to another student reading a simple text - then switch to them chanting "I am a reader".  Finally, it would show a student (or several students) reading to smaller/younger students harder text and then they would chant "we are readers.  We are all readers and you can do it too".  Maybe I could reverse it and have the students reading the harder text first to a younger child.  Then another student reading simpler text to the same child.  Finally, the younger child could read the environmental text and then announce that "I am a reader too".  What do you think?

I think this could be an effective PSA. It sounds like you're already thinking of multi examples to keep it interesting. As you create your storyboard ALWAYS keep in mind how you would like it to look when done; think visually. I think I would let the target audience drive whether you go from easy-reader to difficult-reader. I would end with difficult if your audience is upper elem; end with simple if lower elem is target audience. You're on your way.

I think you have a great idea. I like that you just have 3 examples!
Like Frank said, make sure your storyboard shows the views you expect to see from the camera's view and make those views different.
