Multiplication Madness!!

Here is our IVIE submission for 2010. This was a frustrating experience this year!! We couldn't seem to get together to make this movie.... The kids had lots of things go wrong. For example, one student thought she was filming and she was in fact pressing the button in the opposite way. So whenever the kids were setting up for the shot it was filming and when she should have been recording it was stopped! Ughhh!!! The fairy wanted to be the fairy, and then she didn't, and then she filmed a little bit, and then she didn't want to do it anymore!! Ughhh!!! It's far from perfect, but it was a good learning experience - for all of us!

Project #3 - "I believe"

The kids wanted to create a movie that involved all of them and they could show their parents at Open House.  They wrote two statements first - with either "I believe.....", "I know...." or "I will...." as a starter.  It's one of those movies that, if they were your children, you would look back on when they are 18, 21, 35 and so on....

Newbie Project - I am a Great Reader! movie

This movie was created by a team of second grade students from my class.  I am hoping to motivate them to keep trying - that they can be (and are) great readers!  This process was actually somewhat frustrating and harder than I imagined it would be!  All kinds of things interfered - but we persevered.  Jen

I am a Great Reader script

Download file "Script project 1.pdf"  Not sure how much detail to include since the kids will be reading parts of actual text.

Pitch for Newbie project

I'm thinking of creating a movie to motivate my students to become better readers.  I would have an example of a student reading something like environmental print (i.e. McDonald's sign, stop sign, etc).  The scene would then change to the student chanting "I am a reader".  It would then move on to another student reading a simple text - then switch to them chanting "I am a reader".  Finally, it would show a student (or several students) reading to smaller/younger students harder text and then they would chant "we are readers.  We are all readers and you can do it too".  Maybe I could reverse it and have the students reading the harder text first to a younger child.  Then another student reading simpler text to the same child.  Finally, the younger child could read the environmental text and then announce that "I am a reader too".  What do you think?
