I filmed and edited this version, with students co-writing and also starring. Tomorrow I'm putting together a team to tweak the script tomorrow, then start filming the final version the day after.
NIce job! I know it was a rough cut, but try to make your clips a little shorter. Don't stay on one shot longer then necessary because you'll loose your audience. I might have given one or two more examples of regrouping. Maybe have the girl write her answers from the right. I was just expecting her to come from that direction. The outside shots had great color and I like the use of the playground chalk. Good job!

I agree with Suzanne on the pacing. For all of us, it should be a cardinal rule to pare every shot to the bare number of frames necessary to make it work. No leftover time. It is a clever idea (oh, the power of social pressure!). Nice mix of camera angles.

What a cute idea! I would definitely shorten the shots (for example, when the little girl was crying). I think I would also use math language (such as regrouping or carrying) when the little girl is giving the example. I loved the end when her skirt fell down. Clever use of sound effects.

Fun use of music and sound effects. Even the fairy dust worked in this film! Let me know if you need help trimming your clips. I can come show you and your students a few shortcuts to make it quick and easy.

What a great concept! I am not sure if it was just my computer but the clips were very fuzzy. Trimming the clips would help to move it along...the girls were very cute! I also like Jen's idea of using math language such as regrouping and give a little more explanation as to what it is. I loved the fairy math mother idea!

I liked the concept and the kids teaching. Liked the use of chalk. I agree that it needs to be tightened up. Liked the effects--fairy dust.
