    Figurative Language - Video

This is our finished product. My students entered this into the EYMF. Originally, I gave them the subject and an idea for a video. After extensive brainstorming, they threw out my idea and came up with their own. For this video I was totally hands-off and EVERYTHING in this video is student-done (as you may be able to tell by the "creative" way the content is delivered). They took my advice in some areas but kept anything that they felt strongly about. I am very proud of how they stepped up to the plate with extensive planning, creative filming, and interesting editing.

Chuck - what a group of actors you have yourself! The game show host was really expressive and spoke beautifully! The sound was a little off (some static) - but other than that - they did a really great job!

Very nice! I agree with Melissa about your actors... they are definitely not camera shy. I like the competition aspect of the video... had good sound effects. There were some parts where it was difficult to hear what the students were saying. The bloopers were a great final touch... nice job!

It looks like the kids had a great time and they knew what they were talking about. They seemed to understand the figurative language and were creative in making a quiz show. I also liked the flow of the video. Fun.

Tell your class they did a great job. My class learned the material as we watched it. They are excited to watch all the videos during their free time. I was listening to your video on the head phones and only the right speaker had sound and the left one had no sound. Just wondering if it was my computer or head phones.

Clever video. Not sure what the audio interference was—were you using the little adapter we gave you with the lapel mic? I liked how they found inventive ways to get in the figurative language learning. Their performances were terrific.

Great example of conflict management with the Quiz Show Face - Off. I'm impressed that you were able to stay so "hands off", as the movie was well orchestrated (with obvious kid humor), and the learning objective well presented. Saw evidence of your touch in the bloopers!
