Chuck - Nice job! Did the kids put together the storyboard? Take the photos, etc? It's very detailed! I can't wait to see the final product. Melissa

Like Melissa, I'm impressed. Really careful pre-thinking. I hope your kids were intimately involved in the creation to keep your project kid-done. If not, use what you have here as a starting point and work with them through a revision or two. Because your subject matter isn't directly standards-based, you're going to have to rely on Language Arts standards when you submit to iVIE, and scripting/storyboarding is the obvious place for them to be involved with those standards.
I also noticed several of your shots call for a computer screen. With flat panels, like your laptop, you can get a good image that doesn't flicker (glare can be a problem, but you can get very good results, especially if the screen fills the entire frame). Also, I have access to screen capture software (what I use for the tutorials I do) that captures the screen from the inside, so to speak. It also allows you to very smoothly zoom in and out of different places to help focus attention. You are welcome to bring a team of 2 or 3 kids down to shoot the scenes you need and take them with you, if you choose.
This is going to be a great project.

I like the idea of capturing the college discovery process on tape and making it into a video. It reminds me a little of a mix between a documentary and a reality TV show. I really like the idea of instilling an appreciation or an expectation of going to college even this young. I also like the idea of having many colleges represented in your video. I look forward to how it develops with the interviews!

Very detailed script... Nice job! I too like how it is a mix of documentary and video. You have some great angles on the shots with the computers (like the one with the keyboard and hands typing). "Going to college" is such a great topic for the students. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

I agree with the others. Very detailed. It's great to have a planned script. I like the idea of students contemplating college in elementary. How are you tying it to "The Standards"?
