The completed project had some kids responding to the story, others researched background information and presented their findings, and the last group recited the poem from the book.
Christy- I like your concept. I think this could be a very powerful teaching tool. I like the use of black/white photos- it really brings the issue to light. Very powerful with the student's voice . I'm not sure if there is a copyright issue using the book as your title- you may want to check with that. Overall, I think you have a great idea started.
