The Oak Hill Go Green Initiative

    Reducing Our Global Footprint

Oak Hill's green efforts began during the 2007/2008 school year by instituting a new recycling program for paper, bottles, and cans. We continued to reduce our global footprint during the 2008/2009 school year by introducing composting. Teachers and students participated by placing their fruit and vegetable scraps in worm bins to produce rich soil for our school garden. Oak Hill will continue in our commitment to maintain environmentally-friendly practices this school year. We will expand our composting efforts and install drip-irrigation in our garden. All of our light fixtures and bulbs will be replaced with more efficient models. We will also be using less paper because our staff will be utilizing technology resources for planning and teaching.
